With the advancement in modern days both men and women have started to hold a job. This has led to its own pros and cons. Some of pros are women have become independent and no longer stay behind the four wall of the house taking care of household matter. Also the family gross income has increased which has made the lifestyle of an individual better.
With every pros follows the cons, now with women working outside the house, the household work remains neglected in most of the house. Also with the thriving of fast food chain right across the street has made access of prepared food very easy. With this has raised the growth of obesity and increase in expense of monthly household budget.
The thing that we have done to reduce our monthly expense on food are as follows:
We eat outside three or four times a week.
We get our groceries every weekend and cook at home.
We shop at walmart where we get things for lot more cheaper compared to other stores.
We buy store brand food which is usually 3-50 cents cheaper
We also shop at ALDI where groceries are lot more cheaper. But make sure you compare with walmart because sometimes with price drop
we also see drop in quantity.
I have seen atleast 100$ saving in my groceries bill.
I hope I can win

I am a fan of electronics gadget and want to buy any new gadget out there in the market. My this passion can be very expensive if I do not find a smart ways to own it without breaking my bank.
During the last six month I have owned an imac and macbook. Each of these gadget are the must have in the market. And yes I do have all of these.
I did not have to break my bank in order to get these. Here are some of the simple rules I followed. I do not have the original market value price of these items but I will make an estimate and also mention how much I got this for.
Imac with my configuration at store :$1199 +$100 tax= $1299(new)
Imac I purchased from ebay =$699(lightly used)
Saving =$600
Macbook with my config at store :$999+$100tax = $1099(new)
Macbook I purchased from ebay = $550(lightly used)
Saving =$549
This is some of my ways of saving money and what I have done recently.

Like everyone else in this economy, I have been trying to save money. So I started with the "little" cut backs and it really saved me a bundle. One of my biggest costs, yet a necessity, was food shopping.
I switched from shopping at Acme to shopping at Target. That saved a huge amount!!! They have almost all of the same name brand items and the "target" brand (so I read) is the same ingredients as the more expensive name brands.
In addition, just because I need to save money, I am not going to sacrifice my families nutrition. I shop at the local farmers market. Not only is the produce so much cheaper, but its helping support my local community!!
Finally, I shop at Bj's for my meats, baby items and cleaning products.
As as with any food shopping, I cut coupons and also watch out for the sale items. Then I stock up!!!
It does seem like it would take a lot more time, but I spend about an hour and a half total (with a two year old) and it has saved me a bundle. Its really worth it!!!
I hope this helps!!!

I am very excited to enter into this contest and I really like this topic. Here are some of the ways I have adopted to save money.
Saving is like earning so learn how to save. Its a slow process but once you get use to it, you will see how much you can save. You will see that in year or so you will have paid off credit cards.
Here are some of the ways to save money:
1. Avoid Impulsive buying:
Buy when you think you need it not when you want it. Try taking baby step to get into this habit.
2. Cook at home:
Cooking at home can save your hundreds of dollars in eating outside. One of cause of obesity in US is eating outside.
Eating outside brings lot of hidden cost to the family, you get unhealthy that way you will pay 100 of dollars in medical expenses.
3. Go for generic whenever possible
Most of the time the generic items are listed at prices lower than the brand name. If you fill up your cart with the generic names then you will save 20-30 dollars in your grocery bill every month or bi weekly.
4. Pay off your debts asap.
Consolidating and pay off debt as soon as possible is a very intelligent step towards saving money.
5. Refinance your home
If you think you are paying a lot for your house then you may think about refinancing your house which has saved me 150 dollar in interest.
6.Avoid late fees by paying in time:
Paying your bill in time can save you lot of money. Sometimes we do forget to pay on time , therefore, try out the automated service provided by your company, so that they can deduct it from your bank every month.
There are lot of ways that you can incorporate into your life to save money. Saving money necessarily does not mean that you degrade your lifestyle and others around you. Try to use it whenever and wherever possible. Life comes onces so you need to enjoy it too.

There are so many ways to save money today!! GO GREEN!!
Get the entire family together and plant a vegetable garden,
seeds cost so little, much cheaper than buying veggies at the supermarket.
save even more by canning some of the vegetables for the winter months ahead.
Another added benefit, there's no need for harsh chemicals so your garden will be
ORGANIC!!!!
Walk instead of driving your car,or even take the bus;you will save on gas money
and help the enviroment at the same time.
Give the washer and dryer a break, fill a tub with water to wash your clothes. You can let them
soak so that can come out clean, and then squeeze them and hang them outside to dry.
using less energy means more money in your pants pocket.
If you want a free night of family entertainment,go to your local library and rent a movie.
This tip will save you a bundle, especially if you do it every week.
You can find great meals that are already cooked in your store Deli. This is cheaper than eating
out, who does not want a treat once in awhile!!
I hope these tips help,I tried to give simple ways to save money that can
be used by everyone.

Park the car and ride!! Riding
your bike instead of driving can
really save you some money on
gas. You will also burn up plenty
of calories. Get out into the fresh
air. Do this a couple of times a week
and watch the savings add up.

Have you been to the movies lately?
If so you know how much a ticket can cost.
Some of your local theaters offer deep discount during
the summer for family friendly movies.
This is awesome when you just want an
affordable outing. Most of these shows take
place in the morning or afternoon.Check your
local newspaper for more information.

If you are in need of certain items
and you really can't afford to buy them,
go to craigslist. They have a section where
people offer items at no cost to you. Most
of the time, the items will be at the curbside
for pickup.
Safety is important when interacting
with strangers.

Swap coupons with anybody that has
them. If you search online, there are
plenty of sites that will allow you to
do so. Get what you need, give what
you don't. This will save you money.
Bonus, by not throwing paper away
you help keep our earth a little cleaner.
