When selling clothes online, the price needs to be right!!
Most people are not going to pay $40.00 plus shipping,
on an item that has been hanging in your closet, even if
it still has the tags. If you feel that your item is worth that
price, try selling it at your local consignment shop, instead of
online.Don't get upset if 100 people are looking at your item, but no
offers have come through.Try pricing it lower,or offer free shipping.

I think that is a great advice to sell clothes online. I really like your suggestion. I think one needs to be realistic
when trying to sell used clothes online.

There are couple things that you need to do:

1. How much did you pay for the items?
2. How much are you expecting?
3. Is the price you are asking reasonable?
4. How much would you pay for that item?
5. Are you trying to make profit off of the deal?
6. How would store like plato's closet pay for it?

These are the couple of question that you need to answer before you tag your price. Because there is lot of competition going on in clothing
business and stores are selling brand new items for less.

Therefore before you decide on price of the item to sell online you need to have clear picture of what you want. I hope this help. I am not trying to mean.

Platform like Myclozet is not charging single penny out of your pocket to run the ad then why not take the advantage by lowering the price of the item to sell online and getting new dresses inside your closet.

Thanks for your kind words. Most people that sell
items online are just trying to clear out the closet.
Used clothing is not going to yield a huge profit, unless
it's special in some way, like designer or vintage. When you
have no fees to pay,try to keep your prices low. And please
remember,we are online. there is no trying on the clothes
or feeling the fabric.

Do people actually buy clothes on here, or is it mostly just people trying to sell clothes ..?

That is a good question. We do not have to way to track how many items people sold because we do not handle the monetary transaction. Its only when people report to us that they sold, then we know that its sold. But we will be adding those feature sometime in future when people get more informed about the site.

It is more like craigslist.

I would like to know that too.
I see beautiful items on here.
The prices are a little high. If
things can be priced a little lower
some of the merchandise might
sell.

I also see a few items on here I would like to purchase, but these items are at a silly price for a used item. $20 for a used top? I wouldn't even spend $20 for a new top! Sellers need to think about the type of people that go to this site, which are people that are looking for cheap clothes and accessories.

I agree that the prices are high. The
shipping charge could be a liitle cheaper
too. I wonder if a seller would take offers
for some of thier items. Most of the
clothes offered here are used. The
seller should take that into consideration.

I was thinking of posting some items
for $5.00 with free shipping. Has anyone
sold anything lately.? Everyday I see
beautiful items posted at Myclozet. They
get a lot of looks, but no buyers. This is
a great place to sell, NO FEES!!. I think
we should try to lower the prices.

I think we need to write a small note to seller before they list their item on myclozet saying that our buyers are expecting cheaper price for used items.

I think the sellers will agree and lower their prices.
Ebay is a good source for pricing clothes. You
can look at what a similar item sold for in the
completed listing. The sellers have some nice
items,if they want them sold the price has to
be reasonable.

I think if there were more members there would be more sales. Is there any way of advertising the site besides word of mouth?

You raise a very good question, we as an admin has been trying to do our best but due to less resource we had not been able to do our best.

MyClozet is relatively new. People are discovering
this site everyday. Social Networking sites are a
great place to advertise, for free.

Some of the items here will never sell, priced
to high.It depends on the person. If you
like something,ask the seller for a discount.They
might give it to you
